Daikin Ltd.’s new window-filled Washington, DC space hosts representatives, clients, and guests from all over the world. The 8,200 sq. ft. office showcases the manufacturer’s Japanese heritage, connection with nature, and its advancements in carbon reduction.
VA Spaces and Bognet Construction helped the client realize their ambitious vision of collaboration and sustainability.
The design and construction followed best practices of The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) and was inspired by the concept of Yukimi Shoji – snow watching windows. “We designed around nature. The office features preserved moss on living walls, pathways for natural light from windows, backlit screens, placement of work areas and making careful selections to support indoor air quality,” said Valerie Barnes, Principal of VA Spaces.
