COMMITTED TO BEING “GREEN”

 
Bognet Construction is proactively committed to sustainable design and construction, and providing expertise for LEED certified projects. Green building aligns with our company values of giving back to the people and communities in which we work everyday. We never forget that our resources are a gift and that we must be an effective steward of all that is given to us. We work to provide our clients with the best possible service and a quality finished product all while fostering teamwork, maintaining integrity and helping the environment.
 
As part of our commitment to green/sustainable building practices, Bognet Construction has LEED AP staff on hand, and has encouraged and practices being “Green” within the firm and on the jobsite. We follow LEED/sustainable practices for all projects regardless of whether the project is pursuing LEED certification. Corporate practices include:
 
  • Bognet Construction offers a bonus program to each employee who achieves LEED Accreditation. We also sponsors and reimburses employees for costs associated with LEED Accreditation. Employees are given paid time off to study for the exam. Our senior management and LEED Accredited Professionals are members of the USGBC.
  • Bognet Construction utilizes electronic/FTP technology for document management and bid administration to reduce/eliminate the need to generate paper copies of the projects we bid and management.
  • Bognet Construction recycles all project debris which separates steel, aluminum, and copper from drywall and other materials.
  • Bognet Construction recycles glass, plastic, aluminum, paper, and cardboard in our office and on the jobsites when possible.
  • Bognet Construction utilizes suppliers within 500 miles and FSC certified materials whenever possible.
  • Bognet Construction seals all duct and equipment opening with plastic, and limits VOC and/or indoor air contaminants within and around the project space.
  • Bognet Construction turns off lights and thermostats when our office space is not in use.
  • Bognet Construction’s LEED AP team offers free sessions to partners and subcontractors to assist in staying current on knowledge as it relates to building LEED certification tenant interiors.

Bognet Construction has completed projects that are LEED Certified Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Bognet Construction has five LEED Accredited Professionals with one assigned for each LEED project to ensure compliance to the rating system. In addition, our Superintendents are trained on LEED requirements.
